Lauraine’s Book in Publication

Some time ago on the Card Making and Papercraft Forum Lauraine posted a thread about slice forms.  As usual, I couldn’t bear not to know so I asked my friend Mr Google about slice forms and was immediately hooked.

Lauraine was planning a tutorial book and several forum members, myself included, offered to help test drive her patterns.  Well, what an adventure.  After she had many traumas the book is finally in print and I now have my own signed copy with an honourable mention as a tester.

My name was pulled out of the hat

What a great prize I got.  Sara’s on line magazine is well worth the subscription – lots of product reviews, templates, challenges and ideas as well as prize draws.  Here’s what I won – I am SO thrilled!

Art Class

Carol did this class, wet oils – I was quite chuffed with my effort, albeit the mountains are a somewhat improbable shape.  The technique is by Bob Ross and the canvas is coated with a sort of linseed (or similar thing) and this makes the oils spread more easily.  Large brushes are used and it makes a good effect even in my inexpert hands.  Apparently the technique is shown on Sky 241 in the morning but I don’t have Sky so haven’t been able to view it.

Scrap Book Pages

I’ve done a couple of pages for challenges.  The first for Paper Paradise, a Liz Weber sketch.  Not too happy with it as I feel the paper behind the photos is too dark.

The second, for the Form a Lines forum – I’ve not met the brief in full but I didn’t want to reduce the photos because I liked the impact of the larger pictures.   I think the sketch is designed by the forum owner’s wife but not sure about that.
