Thirtyfive years ago today, Bruce & I became one. It has been a wonderful 35 years & also I am now married for as long as I was single. That's right, I was 35, but he was every bit worth waiting for. Bruce lost his young wife & was left with a small son. I often teased that I married Bruce so I could be Brians mother. Our pastor at that time was Rev. Wayne Aman, pastoring at Kuna, but trying to start a work over near Arena Valley where Bruce was living. He & Bruce also worked together for the Dept. of Transportation. One day I asked Br. Aman, teasingly, why he wasn't helping me & he said, "I am". I was thrilled & eventually his help paid off. A church was started in Greenleaf, Bruce & I married & moved just a few houses down from the Amans. Oh the memories we have of times spent with these dear people. He has gone on to heaven and his wife, Virginia, now lives out by her daughter, Sue, in Murphy. We miss those days, but so glad for all the wonderful memories. Brian became my boy and I could not love him anymore had he been born to me. Brians maternal grandparents & uncle & his family took me on as family, too, & eventually when Karen was born she also became a grandchild to them. Of course, my parents & my brother & family very readily accepted Brian into our family. Bruce & I had a boy, Dale Edwin, who lived two hours & went back to heaven. After two more losses, we eventually became parents to a beautiful daughter, Karen Beth. Brian adored his new sister. Also along with Bruce I aquired some wonderful Germain inlaws. I am thanking God today for bringing Bruce & Brian into my life & then giving us our daughter, Karen. Happy Anniversary Bruce. You have been so wonderful to me all these years & I still do say I do to my wedding vows to thee.. I am looking toward many more years growing old with thee.

Happy Anniversary to us

Wednesday evening, Aug. 26, my little friend, Lisa, & her hubby Dennis, daughter Kyra, grandson Brandon, all brought the whole fixings for a cook out in our back yard. It was so yummy & we had the best time. Lisa used to stay with me when Bruce & her dad, Br. Aman, were working for the state and would stay out of town for the week. I was too chicken to stay alone, so this little girl came down to protect me. haha!! We have some fun memories of days spent with the Amans & it was so much fun to just sit, relax, and renew our friendship. Thanks, Lisa, & all of you Patricks for a lovely evening. It made having surgery worth while. Here is a picture or so of our evening spent together.

Guess it is time to catch up on my bloggin'. I am still braggin' on them Grands, you can be sure of that! June 1, Kayla turned 11 years old. She is such a sweet heart & a big help to her mama both in cleaning house & taking care of the newest sister, Kaite.

July 14, Kalli turned 7. According to Idaho law she is now out of a car seat~~ that is a big deal for a 7 year old. They both requested low keyed birthdays. Kalli wanted a lemon pie instead of a cake & it was yummy~~ Wise Choice ;)

In July the Borks went for a much needed vacation, stopping by the Rocky Mountain Holiness Camp in Rapid City, S. D. for a few days. While there they took in a few sites including Mt Rushmore. From there they went to Colorado Springs, Colorado where they spent a few days with Ricks parents. Grandpa Bork dedicated Kaite while they were there, too. On the way home they spent a few days in Yellowstone Park. Now they are refreshed to pastor & Rick get back to work. LOL. We love our kids & pastor & feel we are doubly blessed to have the two in one. Kaite had quite a time her first few months and after being referred to a pediatric gastrointerologist she is now on a high dose of preacid & is doing better. It is so neat so see her reach for things, coo & smile. Poor baby was in so much pain before she could not do anything but scream.

In June I also had eye lids surgery. I had such baggy eyelids it was affecting my vision, so the Dr. cut about 1/2 inch off. I looked like I had been in a real fight. May post a picture of my eyes. They are pretty close to normal now. I was surprized how long it took for them to heal.

August is the birthday of two great in laws! We have 7 11 Convenience stores out here, so our in laws are 7 11. Rick being on the 7th of August & Beth on the 11th of August. We love you like our own, Rick & Beth. Also on Beths birthday I had scheduled some surgery that has been needing done for a couple years now. What was to be an outpatient surgery turned into a 5 day hospital stay. It also turned into more major surgery than we had expected. Karen & Rick have been staying in their camper out here taking care of me. I have got so spoiled I panic at the thought of them leaving. I am still on basically do nothing restrictions & the better I get to feeling the more it bugs me to not be able to do my own work. There is a danger of the incision coming apart and I DO NOT want to go through the surgery again. Thus I am being very careful. I do have good & bad days, but think there are beginning to be more good than bad now. Beth had us all over for a good dinner last Sunday & Karen is such a good cook I am afraid I am going to gain back the 20 pounds I have lost if I eat much more of her cooking.
This summer we also aquired a Grand horse. Jared is now the Proud owner of a horse. Duke was in our pasture for awhile, but now Brian & the boys have built a corral at their place so Duke is now at his own home. All the Grand think Duke is the greatest thing that happened to this Germain Clan.

This Sunday Bruce & I will celebrate our 35th anniversary. I am so thankful God brought Bruce & Brian in to my life and then a few years later gave us our beautiful daughter, Karen. I surely do have much to be thankful for. That is it for this time.

Had good intentions to blog for April, but time has slipped away. April was an exciting month, so will blog for it, too. April Fools day was a typical day for us, no jokes, etc., This is not joke either, but April 1, was the birthday of my boy, Brians, maternal grandmother, Esther Batie. There is not enough good to say about her. Esther was a wonderful lady and I am thankful for the privilege to know her. When I got to know her, she had already lost her mother and her only daughter. She befriended me in a wonderful way and when we had Karen, she took Karen on as a grand daughter, too, along with her other 3 grand daughters, and her grandson, Brian. She is greatly missed today, Brians birth mother had passed away in April and my sweet mother in law, Geneva Germain passed away in April. April 25, was my parents wedding anniversary, so you see April holds lots of memories for me, some sweet, some not so sweet!

The BIGGEST EVENT in our lives, though, happened this year on April 23, when we got out 7th grandchild, and 5th granddaughter. Kaite Weslee Bork arrived at 10:17 AM weighing 8 lbs. and 21 inches long. Lots of dark hair Karen and Rick are the proud parents. Kaite's middle name is Weslee, the Wes coming from her daddy, Richard Wesley, and the Lee coming from her Uncle Brian Lee. That makes Weslee. Her big sisters are all very happy with her. Of course she is adorable.

The month of May has just arrived. May Day reminds me of when I was a kid in North Dakota. I was telling my grandgirls about one year delivering in the snow. We would fix up baskets with candy rather than flowers and knock on the door and then run and they were supposed to catch you and give you a kiss. I remember one year one of my friends had mumps and since I wanted mumps, I let her catch me. KIDS!! I didn't get mumps either until I was at BMI in Illinois. And I was sick, not too much fun!!!! We have enjoyed keeping the Bork girls while Mom recuperates from surgery. It is going to be mighty lonely here when they can go home. Also we get to keep Nettie, Brians girl, quite often and enjoy her, too. Now why else would this be called blogging grandma, if we did not have the best GRANDS in the whole world.

Mothers Day comes in May and thought I would reminisce about my mother, One day, when Karen was small yet, I asked Mom, When you looked at me when I was little Did your heart just burst with love and pride for me like mine does for Karen. Those who know my mom will not be surprized at her short blunt quick answer. She says to me, " It still does" That was it, Doesn't that sound just like my mom? I miss her so much yet.

Also on May 30, our Karen Beth will be 31 years old! Wow! Where has time gone???? And yes, my heart just bursts with love and pride when I look at her!!!!!!!!!!!!! In fact, maybe with that praise I will be able to get her to post a picture on my blog of our newest beautiful KAITE WESLEE!!!!!!!!!

Fourteen years ago today, March 16, we became grandparents for the second time when our second GRANDSON, Bruce Ernest Germain, arrived. It is amazing how the years have flown by. Bruce is a great GRANDSON and we love him more than we can tell. He and his 17 year old brother, Jared, are awesome pals. Bruce is a joy to have around here and he does numerous little chores for us which we appreciate. He can pluck on his banjo like you wouldn't believe. There are many things to say about him and brag on him about, but let me just thank him for choosing us to be his grandparents. We feel honored!!

March also has a few mentionable birthdays. March 7, is my dear friend, Peggy Schwartz Miller. Though life has taken us different ways and we rarely, if ever, see each other we have remained true friends for nearly 50 years now. Thanks, Peggy, for being my friend and sharing a sister heart with me. I have already said Happy Birthday, so now I will say, Happy Year. Also on March 26th, Peggy and her hubby, Larry, will celebrate their wedding anniversary. I have know Larry longer than I have known Peggy, and so wish these great friends of mine Happy Anniversary!!

Then my friend and sis, you see her sister is my sister in law so we have decided that makes us sisters!!! Gwen will celebrate another year of her birth on March 26th Happy Birthday, Gwen, and many more. Wish we could be together to celebrate, but just let me wish you a Happy Birthday and many more. Thanks for being a great friend and sis to me for these 40 plus years.

Spring is coming and I am glad. I told someone I have froze all winter and will not complain when it is hot, but of course, you know I will. HaHa!

Happy Spring to all my bloggin friends from this blogging, braggin grandma. All are worth braggin about including the 7th which is to arrive in about 5 weeks. Keep tuned for ____'s arrival!!!!!!!!

Since February is the love month, I thought I would blog about the loves of my life. I am thankful for my dear Hubby Bruce. He could not be better. Our or my Valentine this year is a redo of our bedroom. It all started because Karen and Rick got too much green paint for Baby_________"s room. It is called Praire Willow and it is very pretty. So Rick, Jared, Bruce Ernest, and Bruce Grandpa have all had a hand in painting. We had never put trim in there so now I have a pretty window trimmed and baseboard going in tomorrow. It looks so very nice and I told Bruce that it was the very thing I wanted for my birthday and Valentines Day. I even get to get a comforter set. It is also interesting that both of our children married in February. Brian and Beth celebrated 19 years on February 2. Karen and Rick will celebrate 12 years on February 21. February 11 is always a sad day to remember and we miss my mother. WE are not sad that she went to heaven, but we miss her so much. It is 4 years now. The weather is cold and windy, so just told Bruce tonight that the Lord was so good to us 4 years ago, because we had very nice weather. February 17 a dear friend of mine will celebrate a birthday. Happy Birthday, Norma, you have been a great friend now for close to 50 years! Hope your day is great as you are. There are other February Birthdays I have to rememeber people with, but hesitate to mention names for fear I will forget someone. These people are not family, but during our life time have been good friends. Janae Batton celebrates with my friend, Norma. Jalynn Batton Knepper celebrates on February 11. Gram passed on her birthday, interestingly enough Gram gave Jalynn her first bath. I am also thinking of Susan Notbohm Dahn who is one of our little North Dakota girls. I believe Susan was born in 1956. I remember the cold blizzardy North Dakota night. Happy Birthday to all the February people in my life. I wish you all a great year!! If you scroll down into the next blog you can see the wedding pictures of my two kids and their companions. Have a great Valentines and A Great February. Spring is coming!!
