Kodak's Wallet Saving Ink

If you are tired of your ink prices, it might be time to switch to a Kodak printer. Kodak's ink prices are an average of 14 dollars less than most ink cartriges. This wallet saving ink also lasts longer than most cartriges of ink.

What makes this ink so cheap, you ask? Ink cartridges have electronics built into them that tell the ink exactly where to move on the paper and what color of ink to print with, but with Kodak printers it is different. Kodak printers have all the electronics built into them, which means the printer is more expensive (but also means you only have to pay a higher price on a printer once instead of paying a higher price on ink every time you need a new cartridge).

Kodak ink cartridges are actually enviromental friendly. Kodak ink cartridges come in bags instead of boxes which creates less waste. It is time to make the switch to a Kodak printer and save.

Wireless networking has changed in the last year, which means better technology, faster speeds, and better all time connection. Currently Wireless N and Wireless G+ are the top wirelesss technologies. Wireless N offers blazing fast speeds and high reliability, Wireless G+ offers fast speeds and moderate reliabiliy. Wireless G hardware is still being sold in stores which offers good speeds and moderate reliability.

Wireless N Router from Belkin

Still people use Wireless G hardware because it offers good speeds at a great price.

As you may have noticed that Wireless G hardware is not as near as fast as LAN lines or ethernet hookup. Wireless N can actually get faster than both of them. If you want faster speeds it is a great idea to buy a Wireless N router but know that you will have to have a Wireless N wireless card built into your laptop or desktop, iMacs cannot have this upgrade unless taken to the manufacturer.

Wireless N is still expensive on the other hand, wireless routers that have Wireless N technologies built into them can still be over a 100 dollars.

Single Core vs. Mirror Core vs. Dual Core vs. Tri Core vs. Quad Core

It is a fact, the more cores your processor contains, the better performance your computer will have. There are single core, mirror core, dual core, tri core, and quad core processors currently out.

A single core processor consists of one core in the processor which offers good performance only if the processor is 1GHZ or faster. Now a mirror core is a processor that acts as if it were a dual core but is not a true daul core, this type of processor is also known as a processor with Hyper-Threading support, this processor offers good performance under the same circumstances as a single core. The down side on these processors is they tend to get a little hot, up to 40 degrees celcius some were caught running at, but they were built to handle the heat.

Multi-core processors offer better performance then single or mirror core processors. This allows all of your taks to go on seperate cores instead of throwing all on one. A dual core processor consists of two cores and allows for good multi-tasking performance. A tri core processor includes three cores and allows for excellent multi-tasking performance. A quad core has four cores and allows for on the top multi-tasking performance.

Problems with multi-core processors is that they tend to come in low frequencies such as 1.8 GHZ and 2.0GHZ, but the multiple cores make up for the slower speed. Single core processors get up as fast as 4.0GHZ maybe more if someone tried to overclock which is dangerous. Thanks for reading.

If you have a teenager you'll know why. Usually at the age of 13 or older, teens want their own computer. Now when they get their own computer you are worried about what sites they visit and what things they are doing on the Internet. Well there is software out there that allows you to do that, but it only works for a limited user account which a lot of teens don't like.

If you don't know what a limited user account is or in Windows Vista it is called a standard user account, it is an account that limits the user from making system wide changes and installing software which a lot of teens hate. Now this is the only type of account most monitoring softwares have to have to be able to work on that account. We have recently been looking for software that can monitor all computer activity without requiring a limited or standard user account and we have.

ICU is a free software available for download on the Internet that can snap screenshots of all PC activity in a set interval. It works great and is compatible with administrator (full access) accounts. It is also virus free (reported by avast! Anti-Virus 4.8 Home).

Other things you can do to check your teens Internet usage is going into to there web browsing history (only if they're not slick enough to delete all of that). That works too.

This ensures that you won't have the CIA or FBI or maybe even the RIAA knocking on your door. This works by blocking your IP address and making all of your surfing on the Internet private. Any Internet secuirity software can do this, but not as well as Peer Guardian. You can download Peer Guardian by pressing Download below.

There is a virus called the Anit-VirusXP Virus and it is very complicated to remove. The reason for this complication is that it is non-detectable by anit-virus systems such as avast! Anti-Virus, McAfee, and Norton. This virus must be removed manually, but it takes a lot to do so. Here we'll tell you how.

You will know when you get this virus, it will all the sudden pop-up Anti-VirusXP and start a fake scanner, making it look like it is scanning your computer for viruses, exit that. You will see it go into your system tray. Also this will change your wallpaper to a blue screen and in the middle inside a rectangle shaped box will say something like "Warning a Virus Detected, Install Anti-Virus software or Spyware Remover, or something similar.

The first step you will have to take is to go into the Control Panel and then go to the screen where you can uninstall software. Uninstall what will say Anti-VirusXP or it might show up abreviated as Anti-VirXP. It will open a window and uninstall it. Now restart your computer.

Even know the program is gone there are still some more things to do.
What Kind of Computer Fits Your Needs?

Don't know what kinds of computer to buy? We'll help you. This blog entry is all about telling you what type of computer you need to fit your needs.

If you are a person who likes to just browse the Internet or use your computer for general use like word processing, or downloading music. Then this is what you might want in your computer.

RAM: You aren't going to need that much RAM if you are just going to use yor computer to browse the Internet or download music and stuff like that. All you will really need is about 512MB of RAM, that should keep your computer running good for your needs.

Processor: You are going to want a single core processor, this will save you a little bit of money and fit your needs, and for your needs you are just going to need a 1.6 GHZ processor.

Hard Drive: If you download just a little bit of music or save just a little bit of documents, all you will need in hard drive space is 30GB. If you do the other way around maybe a 80GB hard drive, that should be plenty of space. You won't need any special feature on the hard drive like SATA, you are just going to want to go for the plain old ATAPI.

Now if you are a gamer who likes to game a lot and also browses the Internet. Here's what you are going to want to look for.

RAM: You are going to want about 1GB of RAM for good performance in gaming and browsing the Internet. This will offer plenty of RAM to do what you need.

Processor: A lot of games today demand at least a 700MHZ processor but you might want more than that for better performance. You will probably want a single core 2 GHZ processor. This will offer good performance. You might also want to look for Hyper-Threading Technology, found in most Intel Pentium 4s. Hyper Threading will keep the processor up to speed even when you are running a lot of apps.

Hard Drive: You will need a lot of space for all of those games. We recommend you get a 160GB hard drive with a special feature like SATA so that it communicates with your computer faster.

Now we know a lot of people who have just gotta have the best. Like some people who are serious gamers and want top of the line. Here is what you are going to want to fit your needs.

RAM: You are going to want 2GB of ram to compliment those games and apps. You might want to think about looking for a computer with DDR2 or DDR3 RAM so your RAM has a faster frequency.

Processor. Now here's where you have to have the best. Take no budget processor. We recommend a 3.06GHZ Intel Pentium 4HT. This way you have a serious amount of speed and you have Hyper-Threading Technology (HT).

Hard Drive: Now you want a big hard drive, and you are going to want a 500GB hard drive so you can save all of those games. We recommend you get the feature of SATA II, for fast communication.

Service Packs for Windows, sometimes known as SP, are packs of security upgrades and major updates for Windows based computers. Windows has released so far one Service Pack for Windows Vista, although they may release more before you read this entry. Now as far as Windows XP goes, there are three Service Packs. SP1, SP2, and 3. Now the most secure pack is 3 but for people who like to totally customize their computers, 2 is the best.

Replacing the laptop screen is super easy and does not require any technical skills. First you will need these tools.

Philips Screw Driver
Small Flat Screwdriver
A Piece of Soft Clean Clothes

Now, you are going to want to make sure that you have enough space on your desk and that it is totally clean. Use the pictures below to help you do the rest.

Remove any screws that are on the plastic border of the screen. Before you do this though, place some soft clean clothes on the keyboard.

After you have done the procedure above, you are going to want to make sure that every screw is removed before doing the next procedure, otherwise you may damage the border.

Now. gently debody the plastic border from the screen.

Ok, good, you're doing good. Now place the border beside the laptop.

Now, you have more screws to deal with. There will be screws on the medal border that is holding the screen into place. Remove the screws and then gently remove the screen. The medal border will be attatched to the screen, remove the screen and place it on top of the keyboard.

The Top Torrent Search Engines and Clients

A torrent is a way to transfer large files easily. Torrents are usually used to download software and music and games for free, same with P2P. The difference is though between P2P and torrents is that P2P runs off a network, example Gnutella, and torrents run off trackers and seeders, and leechers. Trackers for example would be The Pirate Bay and isoHunt. All of these are trackers.

Torrents are more reliable than P2P is. Torrents actually are better for downloading movies, games, and applications, where P2P is better for music, and videos. Although they are all legal, trackers, seeders, leechers, and users usually end up in lawsuits with copyright laws and illegal downloading (pirating), but again torrents and P2P is totally legal. I mean somebody had to get it somewhere before (explained in another entry).

Anyways here is a list of the top torrent seach engines/trackers and clients.

Search Engines/Trackers (in order of most used)

isoHunt http://isohunt.com/

The Pirate Bay http://thepiratebay.org/

Demonoid http://demonoid.com/

Clients (in order of most downloaded)

uTorrent http://utorrent.com/

Changing to the Windows Standard Look

The Windows Standard theme makes your pc look like Windows 2000 and all of those operating systems between that and Windows 95. This theme is easier on the graphics card and will make your computer run at a higher speed. Doing this and making your background a solid blue color also goes easier on the graphics card. To do this, go to your desktop and right click and then click on properties. Now go to the Desktop tab and change it to None and then go over to the list box that has colors and select the color you wish to have. This will give you a solid color as a background.

Now changing the theme is easy. Make sure you stay in the properties menu and go to Appearance and change the Windows and buttons list box and select Windows Standard. There you've done it.

Compress Warning in Windows Vista

Windows gives you the option to compress your hard drive to save some space on it. This isn't a good idea, because 89% of people who have compressed their hard drive get this error message, "BootMGR Compressed... Pres Ctrl+Alt+Delete to Restart." It sucks getting this message, usually when you get it you will have to reformat and install a fresh operating system. There are codes that you can type in to fix this (not explained in this entry, we will create an entry to help you fix this). So we do not recommend you compress your hard drive.

If you want to go on and compress your hard drive anyway, make sure you back up all inporant files before you do this. Put all inportant files on an external hard drive, mp3 player, flash drive, or online file storage (eg. X Drive and DriveHQ). Also when you compress select C drive, do not select C drive and subfolders.

Windows OS, Which One is Best for Your PC?

There are many versions of the popular Windows operating system and we are going to show them to you and you can see what you should get for your system. We are not going to go way back to Windows 3.1 or 1.0 but we are going to go as far back as Windows 95, one of the first 32-bit Windows operating systems.

So are you building a pc or upgrading your pc or even downgrading and you just don't know which Windows operating system to use. Well we'll help.

First you are going to want to minimize RAM (memory) usage so that you have all of that for applications, videos, web, and music. So here are the minimum requirements for the line of 32-bit operating systems.

Windows 95 - 30MB Minimum Required

Windows 98 - 64MB Minimum Required

Windows ME - 100MB Minimum Required

Windows NT - 64MB Minimum Required

Windows 2000 - 100MB Minimum Required

Windows XP - 128MB Minimum Required

Windows 2003 - 128MB Minimum Required

Windows Vista - 512MB Minimum Required

Windows Seven Prototype - 512MB Minimum Required

So, yes Windows Vista and Seven Prototype do eat up a lot of memory. Now you are going to want a stable operating system, so look at the ratings below of how stable each os is.

Windows 95 - ***

Windows 98 - ***

Windows ME - **

Windows NT - ****

Windows 2000 - ****

Windows XP - *****

Windows 2003 - ****

Windows Vista - **

Windows Seven Prototype - *

So, you should have a pretty good idea of what you want now. But if you want to keep going and still haven't got a good idea, then keep reading.

Now a processor is a very important part of your computer. It is what keeps your games and stuff running smoothely. Here are the range of what processor speeds you need to run these 32-bit operating systems in the Windows Family.

Windows 95 - 100MHZ to 233MHZ

Windows 98 - 233MHZ to 300MHZ

Windows ME - 233MHZ to 300MHZ

Windows NT - 400MHZ to 450MHZ

Windows 2000 - 450MHZ to 500MHZ

Windows XP - 400MHZ to 700MHZ

Windows 2003 - 400MHZ to 700MHZ

Windows Vista - 1.6 GHZ to 3.5GHZ

Windows Seven Prototype - Not Specified

So you know what kind of processor you need. You should have a pretty good idea of what you want now. Old versions of Windows are RAM conservetives and CPU savers and new versions of Windows require a lot of RAM and a fast CPU. Also as you noticed that Microsoft has made 2 mistakes. Windows ME and Windows Vista, we'll see about Seven. See what kind of comments people wrote about these two horrible operating systems.

"Windows ME was a joke for an operating system, I like to refer it as pre-Vista."

"Windows ME was kind of like a virus with a nice GUI."

"Windows Vista, two middle fingers up."

These are the mistakes that Microsoft has made, and we do not recommend installing Windows ME or Vista on the computer you are building, upgrading, or downgrading.

Microsoft Office, Which One to Choose!

Microsoft Office is a suite of products that can be used in home or commericially in business. It includes products like Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Frontpage (No Longer Developed), Publisher, Outlook, Groove (Only in 2007), OneNote (Only in 2007), and Picture Manager.

Microsoft Office is the ultimate office suite, although the downside with it is that it is very pricey. You're talking 250 dollars for the newest version out which would be 2007 (Based On Reports from Consumers). If you want to know what all of the products in it do, look at the list below.

Word - Allows you to create rich text documents, add pictures, video, and all sorts of media content.

Excel - Creates a spreadsheet that can be used for many things, you can reformat the boxes to creat business cards and more.

Powerpoint - Allows you to create rich slideshows in which many features are to be used.

Access - Allows you to create databases for businesses.

Frontpage - Allows you to build websites and add content. Developement of this program stopped in Microsoft Office XP (2002).

Publisher - Allows you to create an assortment of documents like websites, letters, emails, business cards, flyers, and more.

Outlook - A POP3 email access program that allows you to access and save your email without ever getting on the Internet.

Groove - This software was introduced in Microsoft Office 2007, which has been released recently. This software allows you to sync files and folders with other computers easily without connecting them via USB or Firewire.

OneNote - This software creates reminders, similar to but not as cool as Stickies. This software was introduced in Microsoft Office 2007.

Picture Manager - This software allows you to edit and manage pictures with ease.

So now you're familiar with the programs, lets get to it. First before you get Microsoft Office, make sure that it is compatible with your operating system. Compatible OSs:

Microsoft Office 97 or Older - Windows 95-98-2000

Microsoft Office 2000 - Windows 2000-XP

Microsoft Office XP (2002) - Windows XP-Vista (Only if SP3 Included)

Microsoft Office 2003 - Windows XP-Vista

Microsoft Office 2004 - Macintosh

Microsoft Office 2007 - Windows XP-Vista

Microsoft Office 2008 - Macintosh

So those are the compatible operating systems for those Microsoft Office systems. So, well we're still not done, we got to have one that will run at a good performance. So look at this final list below:

Microsoft Office 97 or Older - Required 16 MB RAM 150 MHZ Processor

Microsoft Office 2000 - Required 60 MB RAM 400 MHZ Processor

Microsoft Office XP - Required 64 MB RAM 500 MHZ Processor

Microsoft Office 2003 - Required 64 MB RAM 1 GHZ Processor

Microsoft Office 2004 - No Statistics

Microsoft Office 2007 - Required 512 MB RAM 1.6 GHZ Processor

Microsoft Office 2008 - No Statistics

So we found out that Office 2007 is a RAM eater and a processor stresser, but it does have more features than any other Office system. This one is fully compatible with Windows Vista. So you should have a pretty good ideal of what Office system you want. So go on out an buy one.
