Cheryl is a person who has tried her hand at quite a few things in her life and is still trying to find that one thing that suits her best.
She has sewed, painted, started a Portrait quilt and a Patchwork quilt, Created dolls to look like lifelike babies and is now writing a novel. She has enrolled in The Australian College to acquire her diploma in Novel Writing and getting Published and is hoping that she is good enough to write well and get published.
Cheryl is happily married with three children no longer teenagers. Her family support her in everything she does.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Cheryl started her love of Art in 1999, when she began her first class in a Watercolour course in Rockingham Western Australia under the guidance of her very talented Art Teacher Bob Carter. She then went onto Acrylics a year later, attending Art classes at the Mandurah Arts and Crafts Society. Cheryl entered three of her paintings in the local Art Exhibition and went on to sell all three paintings. This gave her so much more confidence in her own ability to be more creative.

Cheryl decided to have a break in Art in 2002 due to tragic circumstances and went on later to Create dolls to resemble real life babies. She won many awards for these dolls and sold them to buyers in different parts of the world.
It has only been in the last year or so that Cheryl has returned to her love of painting, and in this year she has won a few Awards for her work. She is still learning and still has so much more to learn.
Most of her work has been sold or given as gifts.

Cheryl is having a break from painting to concentrate on writing but will be trying a different style when she does return to painting again.
HER DOLLS
Cheryl started her love of this Art in November 2003, in where she saw her first reborn doll and had mistaken it for a real baby, this was when she fell in love with this Art and knew she had to create these gorgeous babies herself.
She then started on her research to learn to make these wonderful dolls and with trial and error on the way, she finally created her first doll and received her first Sale from New Zealand. Cheryl's creativity with these dolls went on from there.
She has since sold close to 60-70 dolls in different parts of the world.
Cheryl no longer creates her baby dolls, but will consider a custom order depending on the doll etc... as she is pursuing other interests in her life such as writing.

I am in the process of making a Portrait quilt to display on my wall at home. This quilt is dedicated and in memory of my beautiful daughter Michelle who passed away on the 8th July 2002.
MY WORK IN PROGRESS
Update on Quilt 3 September 08
I have been working on my Portrait quilt in the last couple of days and uploaded the photo to Red bubble, added the photo to one of my groups and am so excited to tell you that it was featured on the home page of my group. I was so happy, i was just about jumping out of my skin.
What a joy to have something i created in memory of Michelle to have it liked that much that it has been featured and to have my quilt hanging on my wall to be passed down through generations from child to child.
Please keep an eye out for updates on this quilt as it is just about finished.
Update 9th June 2009
My portrait quilt is now finished and sits on my bed. I will be hanging it on the wall in the near future. I will share a picture when this is done.
WHATS NEW
I used to love to write, poetry but havent written for about 18 years due to life getting very busy with marriage and children.
Although i have never attempted writing a book before. I have now aquired an interest in writing Poetry again, and have started writing a book. This is a Romance/thriller. I am into my first chapter and enjoying this very much, I have enrolled in The Australian College for my Diploma in Novel Writing and Getting Published. I start this next week and cant wait to get started.
AN UPDATE ON MY WRITING COURSE:
Updated on 4/11/08
I am so pleased to say that i have finished my first Tutorial and first assignment on my writing course. Now it is just a matter of waiting for my results to come in, so i will give you an update when they do.
Now i can sigh a big sigh of relief as it wasnt as hard as i thought it would be considering i havent studied for about 29 years. Everything i had learned in English at school has come back to me.
I am enjoying this course so much and have learned quitealot just from the First tutorial alone.Now i am going to take a break and relax for a week or two before i start on my second Tutorial.
I am going away next week on the 13th November for 3 days, and am so looking forward to this. I am pretty surewith the beautiful surroundings my creative juices will beflowing in order for me to write well. This is what i am hoping anyway haha!

UPDATE ON MY WRITING COURSE 13TH DECEMBER 2008
Just to let you know i received a top mark for my first lot of exams and so pleased about this.
I have just about finished my second tutorial and for part of my second lot of assignments i have to send in the first 2 chapters of the book i am writing, i am a bit nervous about this, but will see what happens. I have just about finished my first chapter, but have to set aside a good amount of time for writing so need to set up a good routine.
Will let you know what happens when i receive back my results for my second tutorial.

UPDATE ON MY WRITING COURSE 9/06/2009
I am now onto my fourth tutorial and just finished my third assignment and into my sixth chapter although i am thinking of rewriting the first two chapters, it is coming along ok for now.
MY POETRY
I have written 4 poems in the last 4 months, with more to come shortly.
The first one is called .
DREAMS OF LIFE(FOR THE ONES WHO I HAVE LOVED AND LOST IN LIFE)
My tears i cry
when i say goobye
to the ones I love
who are no longer here
but are here in my heart and soul
There is an ache I will always feel
in the realness of this life
but when I close my eyes
I go to the dreams in my mind
that I control
and in these dreams
I feel safe forever.

HEALING HEARTS WITH RAIN
(CLEANSING THE TEARS WE CRY)
The rain washes away the tears we cry
The saltiness in our eyes
The wetness disappearing when we finally say goodbye.
The rain glistens
when the morning sun shines
through those hearts that were heavy
but are now healing.
The rain brings joy, brings pain
but no matter how we are feeling
we will always need the rain to
cleanse our heart and soul with peace.

THE GOLDEN VALLEY
The Golden Valley
Where the hills do shimmerwith sunlight and dewdrops
that make me quiver with a feeling
of love and tenderness
my heart does tremble
and yearns no more
I am home and
this is where i want to roam
with my love my life
we are here together
watching those glorious Sunrises and
Dancing beams bouncing off the trees,
with our golden dreams our hearts do soar
with our wonderful feelings of love and awe
of this beautiful place and
of each other
and we know we have found
where we want to be
In our golden valley
we are finally free.

THE BIG OLD TREE
The big old tree magastically tall
It would tell us a story
and leave us in awe
of the tales it could tell
over the years that it grew
of young love and of passion
that have sat under its bough.
While the sun reflects golden colours around.
It will never be lonely
with the history its found.
The generation of happy and tradgic events
that have come and have gone
while the tree holds their secrets
it will always live on.

HIS DESPAIR
I feel the hurt in my heart
when i think of what he fairs
His teardrops that do glisten
on the edge of his despair.
How do i get through to him
To the wall he holds in front of his feelings
Like a solid brick that blocks his mind
from me seeing into his heart and soul.
How despairing and frustrating
are the feelings i feel
when i know that its real
in his mind
Its life
but what is life
when it can hurt those you love
and can even hurt you because of your love for him
What can you do
but to live life the best way you can
and keep trying to get through to him
the best way
you know how to do
For if you dont
The hope is gone forever.

STILLNESS OF LOVE
Stillness speaks to me night and day
In the silent blossoming flowers
In the whispering of the trees
The water gently lapping
On the still shores of the sand
The air whispering around us
as we hold each others hand
Stillness when you look into my eyes
and see the love and my teardrops frozen in time
You reach over
and gently touch your lips to mine.
The stillness of a soaring heart
When you know that loves around
It seems to stop in a single beat
when you know true loves been found
Stillness when the time flys by
but love will always be
frozen in our memories and our life forever free.

COLOURS OF BRILLIANCE
Red brilliance is smoking
In the midnight sky
It sparkles and shimmers
so far and so high
A feeling of awe
is what we feel
These fireworks so stunning
they dont seem real
The brilliance amazing
are the colours we see
in such a dark era
so high and so free
And when they are over
The encore is loud
We want more We want more
is the roar of the crowd
Then back in the sky
all the colours abound
bestilled in our memories
for years to be found.
