MY FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORIES WERE SPENT AT THE COMMUNITY POOL. I LOVED WAITING FOR THE MEDAL GATES TO OPEN. JUMPING FROM ONE FOOT TO ANOTHER BECAUSE THE SIDEWALKS WERE SO HOT.

I LOVED THE SMELL OF THE CLORINE BECAUSE I KNEW IT WOULD BE SUCH A FUN DAY WITH REFRESHMENTS TO FOLLOW. LIKE A FROZEN ZERO BAR FROM THE REFRESHMENT CENTER. WHAT FUN WE HAD AND SUCH JOYFUL GIGGLES AND HAPPY SPLASHES WE MADE.
WHO CAN FORGET THE FIRST TIME OFF THE "HIGH DIVE". NOT ME, IT LINGERS IN MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES; AT LEAST THE EARTH SHATTERING SCREAMS DO. BOY THAT WAS FUN AND I WAS SOOO BRAVE. KEEPING CHILDHOOD ALIVE....THANKS JENN

Mike Reid: My first job was at the pool in 1957 at the ripe age of 8 years old working as a basket boy. My best memories were getting to work with the Teens and listening to them talk about the latest trends in music (rock'n roll), hair styles (duck tails), cars, etc. I would ride my bike from Canon St. each day to work. I also loved the frozen candy bars back then as well. What a great place to work and hang with your friends.
