    <content type="html"><![CDATA[These next few months are going to be quite interesting.&nbsp; If don't know by now, I'm moving from NR92 to a station on a resort island that is consistantly ranked in the top 10 beaches in the world and the only asian beach to remain in top ten for that long according to Yahoo Travel.<br><br>The island is called Boracay, population 12,000, and it's one of the thousands of islands that make up the Philippines.&nbsp; Probably over half of the population of Boracay consists Americans, Italians, Germans, Swiss, backpackers, hippies, WWII vets, probably the odd American Civil war vet as well (but not likely from the south and not likely alive).&nbsp; <br><br>The station I'm going to is called Radio Boracay.&nbsp; It's not a big station, but it's on a resort island and there ain't nothin' wrong with that.<br><br>For those of you still intestested in following Flipside, I'm pushing to see if I can move it to Radio Boracay... but I'm sure it won't happen, but who knows, maybe Flipside will live on.&nbsp; <br><br>Keep on listening, I'll be posting regularly.<br>]]></content>

    <title><![CDATA[What exactly is this coalition government idea?]]></title>

    <content type="html"><![CDATA[Last week the NDP, Liberals, and Bloc all got together to overthrow the Conservatives.&nbsp; I had no idea as to what exactly was going on.&nbsp; Today I finally got the answer.&nbsp; Will Molls of Ryerson over in Ontario created a well-written explanation as to how our electoral system works and what exactly is happening.&nbsp; Ignore that fact that he's NDP.&nbsp; If you're confused as much as I was about this whole situation, read Molls' analysis.<br><br><a target="_blank" href="http://www.rundp.org/">http://www.rundp.org/</a><br>]]></content>

    <title><![CDATA[Protests?]]></title>

    <content type="html"><![CDATA[Today I didn't go to school because I didn't have much to do at school today so I skipped.&nbsp; I'm sitting at home making lunch and all of a sudden I see a group of people congregating on the street (the same street that is south of A&amp;W on Whyte).<br><br>I took a look at what they were picketing for, and this is what the sign said, "Canadians against Coalition"<br><br>Are you f'n kidding me?&nbsp; As far as I see it, the small group of conservative supporters in my NDP riding are getting together to chant 'Go Harper Go'?&nbsp; <br><br>I wondered to myself what kind of people would go to this random rally on one of the deadest streets in the city.<br><br>Then I figured it out, these were the people that drove their Ford F-350s out to take up literally half the road and scream about how much they love how things are going with the conservatives.&nbsp; <br><br>I really don't care either way if this coalition government goes in or not, I think the Dion and Harper are both unfit to run our nation.&nbsp; <br><br>I guess it just goes to show you how smart these people are by gathering in a place where no one will see them.<br><br>This will be one of my top 10 reasons why I am moving out of Canada in 6 weeks...<br>]]></content>

    <title><![CDATA[Awkward Moments]]></title>

    <content type="html"><![CDATA[You know that moment when you get on an elevator and it's only you and a stranger.&nbsp; I'm not too sure if it's just me but I always feel awkward just standing in this approximately 1.75 X 2.6 metre room with someone I don't even know.&nbsp; Usually, it's about 15 seconds of silence accompanied by staring at the ground.<br><br>I think what's even more odd is when that stranger tries to break the tension by saying something random and current.&nbsp; Usually it's about sports or the weather.&nbsp; Most of the time I just agree and nod.<br><br>I wonder what would happen if I started to ramble on about whatever topic that person had brought up.&nbsp; I think the reaction would be pretty funny.&nbsp; Either they would get into it or else just feel as awkward as the situation was to begin with.&nbsp; They couldn't really stop the situation without being rude unless the elevator stops at the next floor; then it's done I guess.&nbsp; <br> ]]></content>

    <title><![CDATA[2012?]]></title>

    <content type="html"><![CDATA[So if you haven't heard already, the world is going to end on December 21, 2012... really?&nbsp; Supposed experts are saying that the Mayan calendar predicted that this day whill be when planet Earth will be placed on the end proverbial drill bit and screwed into the wall of ARMAGEDDON.<br><br>Really?&nbsp; What have we learned from Y2K?&nbsp; How many prophets have said that the dawn of the new millennium will be the destruction of our world.&nbsp; We're still here and not dead, so what now?&nbsp; Oh yeah, that's right, a new prophecy that was foreseen as the darkest hour of the world.<br><br>If you've seen the trailer for the film '2012' slated for Spring 2009, and starring John Cusack, then you would know that a one of the big cataclysmic moments in the movie will be the ocean engulfing an entire mountain range.&nbsp; How f'd up is that?&nbsp; Are you serious, Columbia Pictures?&nbsp; How is that statistically possible?&nbsp; That much water would leave other parts of the world bare and dry (most likely Canada since the mountain are in Asia).&nbsp; That, or else the moon decided to take a closer look at Nepal and accidentally drew all of Earth's water to the Himalayas.&nbsp; <br><br>Here's my prediction for the day of December 21, 2012.&nbsp; China will become a larger world power more than ever, Russia will be under the rule Vladimir Putin, the U-S as a whole will be on the brink of bankruptcy, and despite efforts from developed nations, global warming will be far worse than it is now, leaving Canada to be the only place barely affected, and every other country clawing their way into our land... the beginning of WWIII.<br><br>I'm a realist, and I'm not going to sugar-coat it.&nbsp; Let me know what you think with your comments.<br>]]></content>

    <title><![CDATA[Quantum of Possible Stupidity]]></title>

    <content type="html"><![CDATA[In a little under 12 hours, I'm going to go see 007: Quantum of Solace, the 22nd installment in the James Bond series.<br><br>I did some reading up on the plot and I have to say I'm not too impressed.&nbsp; <br><br>Here's the premise:<br>&nbsp; James Bond picks up from the ending of 'Casino Royal', and then he goes and tries to find out how was responsible for that chick dieing in the last movie.&nbsp; Meanwhile, some other bad guy bent on gaining money by doing something evil is planning his claim to success.&nbsp; Fast forward.&nbsp; Bond gets revenge for the lady-person's death and stops the bad guy.&nbsp; And the ultimate story is that young James is smarter because of the whole situation... <br><br>That is my analysis.&nbsp; And if it sounds familiar, it's because that's the base layer of any bond movie when you remove all the action scenes, and mini dramas.&nbsp; It's all the same.&nbsp; In fact, I be that's gonna be the same plot for Transporter 3.<br><br>I only liked Transporter because it was the biggest cheese/action fest that was worth watching.&nbsp; Then they made a sequel, and now they're making another one.&nbsp; <br><br>Needless to say, I don't think the end of predictable action plots will ever come, they'll only get even more violent and more obscene.<br>]]></content>

    <title><![CDATA[Cobalt Infusion]]></title>

    <content type="html"><![CDATA[The next show I'm not doing anything because I got one of Edmonton's new and rising star DJs to spin Flipside.&nbsp; His name is Cobalt Infusion and he's a trance DJ.&nbsp; Craziest thing is that this kid is still in high school.&nbsp; He can't even drink alcohol legally yet and he's already shown a lot of talent... a lot more than Jesse McCartney... but that's not saying much.&nbsp; Nevertheless, tune in for Flipside on Tuesday at 4:30 and listen to this guy do his thing.&nbsp; I'll be there, just talking, that's pretty much what I do.<br>]]></content>

    <title><![CDATA[Post Election]]></title>

    <content type="html"><![CDATA[After all the smoke has cleared and the dust has settled, there is one victor through out this whole campaign... congratulations to the American Presidential Election!<br><br>Not only did you kick the Canadian Federal Election's but you also could have created the largest voter turnout in your history.&nbsp; It was only this morning that you tramped Canada's voter turnout by a minuscule 100 MILLION!&nbsp; 100 MILLION, really?&nbsp; <br><br>Let us compare Canada's media coverage... National Debate here was in a closed studio for the public to watch on television and covered two days, one in French and the other in English.&nbsp; The US Presidential Debate... I don't even know how many they had, but they sure as hell were broadcasted well and in large auditoriums.<br><br>Here's the bottom line, we as Canadians are too empathetic to the United States for one main reason package: They control our media, our money, and, unfortunately, even our very own federal government.<br><br>Let's face it Canada, we play Robyn to America's Batman.&nbsp; There is no denying it.&nbsp; Way to go!<br>]]></content>

    <title><![CDATA[The War Continues (Prize to be won by YOU!)]]></title>

    <content type="html"><![CDATA[So I you didn't know by know by now, I'm in the middle of a RADIO WAR!<br><br>It's simple really, I called out Grant Belous from Evolution because I didn't like his videos, he came back and told me I'm going to get pounded by Russians if I didn't have an exit strategy.&nbsp; And I shot back with a video with Grant's head superimposed onto someone's body while a fellow in short shorts dance around.<br><br>Now that you're up-to-date, we're down to the nitty-gritty.&nbsp; I went on Evolution tonight and I set the challenge: SCENE IT!!!!<br><br>That's right, the video trivia game where players try to beat each other to the end of the board and reign as 'Movie Master of NR92'.&nbsp; <br><br>One problem though... neither of us have Scene It! so here's your change to be apart of NR92 history!&nbsp; If you have the game, just post a comment saying you do and I will give you a Flipside Mix CD, a guest spot of Flipside, an appearance on my Vlog, and free Whopper Junior Combo Meal from Burgar King.&nbsp; All you have to do is bring the game, simple as that!&nbsp; You can't have a war unless you have the board to play on.<br>]]></content>

    <title><![CDATA[Misconception]]></title>

    <content type="html"><![CDATA[So we the radio students got scolded because some of us have complained about having to 'condense' news for the internet and this was perceived as us believing that news is something that is pointless...<br><br>Let me just clarify that is not what we think.&nbsp; We bust our asses, especially from Tuesday to Thursday, to get out news stories together for the 'Gong Show' so it can go to air on Thursday afternoons at 4.&nbsp; So obviously we do care about news, and unlike our predecessors, we try to go further so that our news is always improving.<br><br>When we have an assignment due in which we have to 'condense' our news stories, it's been said that we think that it's pointless... it's not.&nbsp; It's worded wrong.&nbsp; It's nearly impossible to condense a radio news story to 300 words since our news stories averages 150-170 words.&nbsp; 630CHED's news stories online average the same, I even saw one that was only 69 words.&nbsp; I think we should have to call it 'expanding' stories more than anything.<br><br>I just don't like getting reprimanded for something that was misconstrued for apathy... although, last week I sacrificed a news story to put together a news/feature show for NR92... ironic really, news for news.&nbsp; In that case, yeah, I could have cared less if didn't get a news story in.&nbsp; I was up until nearly four in the morning and slept at school for the sake of the 'Gong Show'... I'm that dedicated.&nbsp; <br>]]></content>

    <title><![CDATA[Crazy days of the week]]></title>

    <content type="html"><![CDATA[<P>So I used to work at a radio station and the most stressful days for those who actually did radio stuff were Thursday and Friday.&nbsp; Since we're at NAIT and it's supposed to be training us for the industry, don't you think that we should have to deal with&nbsp;our&nbsp;stressful days on the same days as those in the industry?&nbsp; </P>
<P>Right now, I've noticed that Mondays and Tuesdays are like hell because Wednesday is the day that&nbsp;the big projects&nbsp;are usually due.</P>
<P>I'm not asking anyone to change the way do things here at NAIT, I'm just wondering why we start the week off with deadlines and end it with what feels like mild procrastination.</P>]]></content>

    <title><![CDATA[The Show???? Music's good, I kinda suck]]></title>

    <content type="html"><![CDATA[Everyone always says that you're your best critic.&nbsp; Tis true my friends.&nbsp; I think I suck at my show.&nbsp; But I do play the good songs that people like in my format so I guess it balances out.&nbsp; I'm really not too sure what to talk about during the breaks.&nbsp; I guess that's because, for those of you who don't know, I don't spend much time in the control room during the times when music is playing.&nbsp; <br><br>Most of the time I'm playing around in the halls or else bugging out NR92 people while they try to finish school work... yes, I am a bugger.<br><br>So if you have tried to call in to my show, now you know what I'm doing when the music of bumpin'.<br><br>On a completely different note, I'm thinking of making posters for my show and posting them around campus.&nbsp; I think it might work.&nbsp; <br><br><br>]]></content>
