I remember it as if it were yesterday. Twenty five years is a long time to wait but I’m finally taking my dream and turning it into a reality. Twenty five years ago when I was a young mother I so desperately wanted to stay home and have a home based business. I had always enjoyed painting and drawing.  It was and still is my passion. As a child I would spend hours coloring and drawing. Needless to say it made sense for me to handcraft my own greeting cards, note cards and stationary.

     During those early years of motherhood when I was home, I made many handcrafted note cards that my mom and dad would take to work and sell for me. Once the kids got older my hobby was put on the back burner.

   But my love and need to be creative could not stay on the back burner forever. It wasn’t long before I began to pick up my watercolors, crayons and rubber stamps again to create mini works of art. Over the years I must have created thousands of handcrafted note cards which I have used myself or have given away as gifts or as donations.

    With my retirement years quickly approaching I thought that I might like to go back to school and major in art but the lack of time and money soon put an end to that thought. BUT my dream is not dead.

    I decided to go into business not only to make and sell my own handcrafted note cards and stationary but also to teach others what I have learned and know how to do. By sharing my talent and know how with others I can help to unleash the creative side that they have.

    Since January I have been honored and blessed to share the talent that the Lord has given me with a group of women who are eager to learn to tap into their inner creative child. I share with them all of the latest stamping, scrapping and paper crafting techniques. And yes! It really is FUN!  At my workshops I teach not only rubber stamping but also other ways to make and enhance cards. Some of these methods are stenciling, paper quilling, and different types of embossing, faux stain glass, collage etc.

    The workshops meet once a month. There is a small fee which includes materials used as well as a goodie bag each person can take home filled with craft supplies and papers to help them create and enhance their creative projects.

  It has been great fun launching my new venture. My dream of having my own home based handcrafted note card business has turned into a reality.
